Flamengo salvaged a 1-1 draw against Ferroviária on Monday night at the Luso Brasileiro stadium in the 10th round of the Brazilian Women’s Championship.
The Rubro-Negra team fell behind when Kati converted a penalty for the Guerreiras Grenás in the 55th minute. However, Flamengo equalized in the 90th minute through Kaylane, despite being reduced to 10 players.
Flamengo goalkeeper Vivi Holzel was sent off in the 87th minute after receiving a second yellow card for arguing with the referee. With no substitutions remaining, forward Fernandinha, who stands at just 1.65m, moved into goal. She made two straightforward saves from weak shots inside the box, helping her team hold on to the point.
The result keeps Flamengo in seventh place with 16 points. The team returns to action this Friday, again at Luso Brasileiro, facing city rivals Fluminense in the classic.
